Akkal is the Founder of AMRC (Aidi Media and Research Consultancy) and the Himalayan Gazette, where he leads research, media, and consultancy work focused on sustainable tourism, mountaineering, and Himalayan heritage.
His work sits at the intersection of field research and practice — mountaineering and high-altitude studies, trip planning and itinerary design, tourism policy, outdoor first-aid response, and content creation for the trekking and expedition sectors. He has contributed to policy conversations, including the Youth Policy Dialogue on Tourism (2025), and engages academically with the Nepal Mountain Academy.
From his base in Nepal, Akkal works to advance knowledge, community development, and responsible practice across the Himalayan region.
